SheerVideo Reader is a codec pack to decode files that were compressed by the program from the same family, SheerVideo Pro, which is a powerful compression program to compress videos and images made in QuickTime.

So, SheerVideo Pro works to compress MOV files without losing quality, and Sheervideo Reader (which is completely free) is just to decompress them and see the videos.

This tool doesn´t have its own interface, it just installs the codecs so you can play compressed files in any player that is operational with MOV extensions.

To work correctly, logically, you need to have previously installed QuickTime.
